I believe I saw where LIFE interviewed that officer just in the last 5 or so
years. He actually lives in the United States now.

Not any more....he's dead... ;-)

As I understand it, it was a friend of Loan's the guy had just killed. But
as you say, memory might be failing me on this one. What do the history
books say on this one folks, mine are packed away!
