NO! It was NOT restaged. How long can this go on? There is incontrovertible 
proof all over the place. Investigations have been done and the 
photographer who took the picture, Joe Rosenthal explained what happened.

The soldiers at the other end of the island couldn't see the flag. It was 
too small. So they replaced it with a bigger flag. When they put that flag 
up, Rosenthal took the picture. No restaging. They did not do it for the 
camera.

One of my journalism teachers had a signed copy of the photo in his office. 
He was a friend of Rosenthal. He knows the story REAL well.
