The shade you asked about is the FISON. I see them for sale for from about
$25 to $75 in the US. The shade will improve the contrast of the Elmar,
especially if it is an uncoated one. If you don't have a shade, use your
hat to cast a shadow on the front.

You will find the lens to be astonishingly good.
