Subject: RE: [Leica] The new Konica hexar RF; take a look

The real question will be how many of these guys will Konica have to sell in
order to make a long-term commitment to the system, and are there enough
people out there who want it & are willing AND able to make the (not so
cheap) investment. Seems that anyone interested enough in investing that
kind of money in a rangefinder system want the possibility of TRUE manual
focusing options, something I keep hearing in various reviews of the Contax
G2. Focus assist in the current AF rangefinders are no better than using a
Rollei 35 or Minox with manual scale focusing. If pro's didn't have that
option with AF SLRS, that concept would have died a long time ago.

DB,

I think its both a Leica M6 and G2 killer. ;-)

Only problem is the Leica lenses are still MF, so I hope the konica lenses
will be up to par.

It may force the idea of an M7 - why do I think Leica will just badge it? -
but if it's a killer, I'll bet it's a G2 killer for anyone who buys the G2
as more than a fancy P&S..
