I believe Kodak is discontinuing VPS in favor of their Portra 160 which
comes in NC (natural coloring) and VC (Vivid coloring). Both are also
available in 400. The Portra 400VC is a favorite of mine both indoors and
out. Beautiful colors that are not overdone, but not flat either.

I noticed that one of the luggers had a thread about good color films that
have great latitude. I agree that Kodak Vericolor III film is a fine,
although lower contrast film. Despite what Kodak says about speed, it is
really 100 speed film. I have used this stuff in 35mm, 120, perfed 70mm,
non perfed 70mm and 4X5. It s really the same stuff in any format. In fact
if I do buy some, I try to get it in 100 foot rolls for my bulk loading
pleasure. You will never find blown highlights with this stuff. Grain is
medium, but then grain never has bee the subject of my shoots. The results
are what really counts. Remember this is a temperature sensitive film, so
be careful with it.
