Subject: [Leica] Is the M5 an Edsel?

Greetings All,
I am thinking of  purchasing a working M5 but I've been told, by a
professional photographer, that "the M5 is the Edsel of Leica".  Is this
so?
Presently I use a M3, R4 and V35, Film TRI-X @ 200 ASA Developed with HC
110.
