With an SLR you can use depth of field preview....with an M you cannnot.

And with an SLR you are looking through the lens either (99% of the
time) at its WIDEST APERTURE or else darkened. This is not WYSIWYG
either.

Is not the rangefinder view more representative of what a camera lens
will see at the middle apertures?
