I can tell you that my father who fought in both the European and =
Phillipean campaigns had witnessed multiple "executions" of captured =
soldiers, some of whom had surrendered with the hopes of having =
courtesies extended to most prisoners of war--  both Wehrmacht and SS.  =
Such was (and is) war.  His stories are neither graphic nor =
exhibitionist-- merely, matter of fact.  I find them sobering, and thank =
God that my children live in a time and country where they have a hope =
of never seeing the atrocities like those.  Kpeters
