Subject: [Leica] testing R8 - film end

hi luggers,

i'm actually testing a R8-equipment (R8, 19/2,8, 50/1,4, 100/2,8, 180/2,8,
winder, metz-flash) - .
i first had a little shock about the bulk size & the weight (ergonomic
design?): is my indication-finger not long enough? i hardly can reach the
shutter-button... (i always thought, that i have "normal sized" hands, i'm
used to handle a Nikon F4 reflex very well); on first touch, the R8 for me
does'nt remember to anything like "handling a sensous woman".... :-(

but what i would like to ask experienced R8ers:
there seems to be no (clear?) warning when the full film is exposed - i
exposed up to frame 46 when i realised, that the film-end allready has
arrived... is this normal? does'nt the film stop automaticaly at film end?

one more: there seems to be a little delay between pressing the
shutter-button and exposing - is this slow reaction normal? (compared to
M6 or F4)

my other impressions: the 180/2,8 is just LOVELY!!!
the technical features of the R8 seem very well layoutet for reasonable
photographic work;

more impressions will follow after this week...

regards, thomas
