If you want a zoom, stick to Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Minolta, Contax, Leica R,
etc, etc, etc, etc.......

I use the Leica M because of what it is. If I, or anyone else who choses
Leica M wanted a zoom, We'd have chosen something else.

Why does every 35mm system HAVE to have a zoom? Are you going to pick a zoom
with a maximum speed of, may 2.8, or stay with a 35 or 50 single focal
length with a maximum of 2.0 or 1.4? After seeing so may of you responding
to the "which one lens should I have" question with the words "Summilux" and
"Noctilux", I think we all know the answer.

Zoom lenses fill a need for some. If you have that need, buy into a system
that has one. It's a wonder any first class photography was done before the
1960's since there were no zooms.

Peter,

You know it's impossible, or you never used a Leica M.
;-)
The closest they can do is what they did: the Tri-Elmar.
