I never mentioned a "rangefinder" in this context, actually. I was thinking more in terms of the R-series. Now for fine grain you don't need a tripod. For sharpness you do, but I don't like to carry my Blad everywhere in addition to my tripod; there are those times when weight does matter. Bernard
