That will be cool with heavy lenses like the 70-180/2,8 APO.

Have you tried a shoulder stock?  I use it with any lens that has a tripod
mount, for example the 250, 280, 400 and 560 Telyts, with excellent
results.  1/60 sec with the 250, 280 or 400 is very realistic, and 1/125
sec with the 560.  You get to use it with your existing lenses and any you
may purchase in the future, and there are no switches or modes to set or
