Subject: [Leica] two-cam

Luggers, what's your view on this: I saw an ad for a two-cam Leica lens
today that said this lens can be used on ALL Leica SLR cameras (in
aperture priority in automatic mode or in manual mode), indicating that
this lens can be used on R4 and later cameras in aperture priority but
not shutter priority or program modes. Brian Bower in "Leica Reflex
Photography" and "The Leica Lens Book" states that "twin cam lenses
should not be used on R cameras." Is he wrong? His books acknowledge the
assistance of Leica Camera AG and would seem to be the official voice on
use of Leica cameras and lenses. Or is the ad wrong? Thanks for your
advice.
