I have to admit to preferring exhibitions to competitions and thankfully the situation here seems to allow that. I wish I had an URL, as yet I've not created a web site and if I can figure out how to up-load a picture or two I'll be delighted to contribute. I'm still on the two-finger typing stage of computer literacy. So far I have not been abvle to create a Jpeg to send in the e-mail, I can only seem to generate Tiffs, but I shall try to explore the site and see if I can do some real 'virtual photography', putting my cyber pictures where my mouth is. I certainly don't wish to offend but the inanimacy of many Leica pictures I see in my own Leica based society here in the UK seems to be contrary to what the camera is best at. It strikes me as interesting that the contributions to the MSN site are similar and that LUG members with people based pictures show them on their own sites. Have just returned from visiting your web site, I couldn't find any links other than leaving a message in your guest book, is that right? Anyway, I thought the photos were very strong, very immediate images, mostly, which illustrated a person or place or group of people. The one I think which went further and offered a story, with 'ambiguity' as Len Freed would say, was the final colour picture, it was only here that I was able to pursue the characters behind the picture, muse on what they might have been talking about, thinking about, longing for, waiting for and working towards. In comparison the other pictures seemed rather 2 dimensional to me, they didn't quite offer that chance to speculate on "why"? The answers were already there, they were statements rather than questions. Anyway, you'll hopefully have your chance to view my stuff soon. Thanks for the second e-mail, we're all different. Well Jem, if you feel that you are in the position to be the judge of other people's efforts, let us all see some proof of your own use of the Leica camera! What is your URL? (If you don't have a URL, please give us all a lesson and upload some of your pictures to Leicausers...) If you like, you may check my own humble pix at: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/5799/photo.htm or http://communities.msn.com/Leicausers Hans Pahlen Manager of "February Contest" -open for everyone!
