The 640 was too long, not balanced well and too slow for me to use
hand-held.  Since I don't use tripods (it's against my religion - don't ask
what that means) it wasn't much use to me.  The 400 Novoflex was much more
useful to me.  I'll bet it would be fine on a hefty tripod.  Price??  No
clue.  I sold my Novoflex 280/400/640 set in 1979 for $350.
