You have given me a lot of great information! I expected nothing less from this list! I am a little leery of old filters. I have a bunch of old series VI filters, some of which are delaminating. Of course for the right price and condition I'd give the Summitar filters a try. I think I am going to try to find one of the Summitar to E-39 adapter rings since I would like to be able to use the filters I buy on both the IIIf and M4. Thanks for the model number. Its also nice to know that there is a clip-on lens shade that might work for an LTM camera. The vented shade for the Summicron M fits but blocks too much of the viewfinder. And as far as putting filters on a Leica lens... I'm not going to get into the optical quality debate. Just sometimes B&W work benefits from a yellow or red filter.
