I have Kodachromes and Ektachromes taken by my uncle in 1955. They have been in a metal slide box ever since. The Kodachromes are as new - superb, the Ektachromes are almost blank. The process is unique. I used to work on a Kodachrome processor when I was in college. Dyes are ADDED to the film in processing. That's why it has such great colors and permanence.
