"If in a hundred years' time anyone wants to know what Britain looked like in the 1980s, he should take Pevsner in one hand and Fay Godwin in the other - - and then he will have the truth of it." As an aside Nikolaus Pevsner was the historian who wrote the immensely detailed 48-volume architectural guides to all the English counties entitled "The Buildings of England"... of which there is nothing else in the world quite like them, and anyone who is contemplating a photo visit to the UK shoul dbuy the ones he will need. They save many miles and wasted hours of footwork. And Fay Godwin has used many cameras from 35mm and panorama to 4x5... but I've never heard of her using a Leica.
