B&H is listing the Nocton for $459.95, the Skopars for $339.95, and the

Ultragon for $459.95. Is the premium because Photo Village has them in

stock and B&H may not?

Jim

.....
I sure doubt it! I walked into B&H late Tuesday afternoon and walked out
with a 50 mm Nocton...for $459...These prices are WAY, WAY, WAY out of line.

Yes, Jim, that is exactly the case.

I have imported these from Japan for those who can't wait for the "US"
release of the Voigtlander products. The stream of US goods has been
cheaper,
but availability has been sporadic at best and almost nonexistent at worst-
even at B&H.

For those who can wait a few months, yes, you will probably end up paying
slightly lower prices. This is true of almost any photo gear. First in the
pool always seems to pay with the biggest splash of cash. ;-)

For those who want it today, and don't mind paying the higher Japanese
price,
I have them available NOW. All who have purchased them so far have been
satisfied and none (I would think) are unaware of B&H or their advertised
prices.

In case someone would think I am "price-gouging" I assure you that I am not
and my mark up on the whole line is minimal.

Please also remember that I am a one-man camera shop and I have a personal
relationship with each of my customers. This does mean at times that I may
charge a few bucks more for something that B&H gets a great price on because
of the volume they buy in. In those cases, I try to supplement my value
added
by offering services that B&H cannot afford to. (.. Including-as many have
done- letting people take a lens for a test spin around Bryant Park here in
Manhattan before committing to a purchase.)

In addition, for those in NYC, please feel free to make an appointment to
see
any or all of them, in person, out of the box. This is another thing many
big
dealers simply won't do...it is just "wait on line, buy, get out" at many
mail-order houses here in NYC.

PS- I just got in the black 50f1.5 Nocton's today, so four are now AVAILABLE
at $749.

I hope I can be of help. later,
