Seriously, the Nikonos 35mm f2.5 is the same lens design as the old rangefinder lens. The Nikonos version is a just an OK performer on land (reasons below). Nothing stunning like my Leica summicron but good enough for the old drug store 4x6s. I have shot chrome through it but nothing too slow as of course you have to scale focus with the Nikonos. Please do not take my advice as the final word as the UW version flares like the Dickens on the surface because it has a permanent protective flat glass element and no lens shade! Underwater it performs beautifully as long as I have got the focus correct. One nice thing is how inexpensive it is to repair. I bought mine used and cheap with light "cleaning" marks that made everything GLOW. Nikon changed the complete internal optical unit for $100US! > From: Robert Browne <rbrowne@iopener.net> > Date: Sun, 20 Feb 2000 22:59:43 -0600 > Subject: [Leica] Nikon 35mm f2.5 LTM lens > > Does anyone have any opinion on or personal experience with the Nikon 35mm > f2.5 LTM lens?
