It could be a hybrid, much like the Pentax LX or Canon F1N. Higher shutter
speeds, maybe above 1/30, could stay mechanical. Lower speeds, at least in
the case of the LX, would be electronically controlled. Naturally, no
battery power, no lower shutter speeds.
