jeffrey,

i contemplated getting on of those templates when i first got my iiif.
since they were relatively rare and expensive, i decided to forego it. so,
here's my trick:

- - pull out the film leader to a length of 15 sprocket holes.
- - trim the leader with a pair of scissors as far back as 13 sprocket holes,
leaving two holes exposed on the trimmed side.
- - slide the end of the leader into the cassette.
- - slip the cassette and film canister into place.
- - replace baseplate.
- - you're done!

and, you've saved at least $60 by not buying the template. you can now use
that money on film or on a bottle of single malt!

what ho!
