I'm a yankee too. but a Yankee Trader is not what I consider to have the
best of heart. What's right in their mind , would be and is against the
mores of others. A sharp business man, just because he/she finds an angle
that best sells their product, doesn't mean they were successful (except to
those who profit by their angle). to the others, they would just be slimy.

Being a Yankee, I take great offense to that term being associated with the 
aforementioned errant behavior!  I don't believe that's really what is 
meant by "Yankee Trader", I believe it means more savvy, astute, 'careful'. 
 It certainly has no connotation of impropriety!
