I will making my first trip to the U.S. since the spring of 97 in a couple of weeks, and my first trip to New York since I left New Jersey for Belgium in 95. Naturally, I want to bring a subset of my Leica stuff and prowl Manhattan with my M6 (given the high current value of the dollar, shopping is not interesting, although I may pay a visit to Tamarkin). Are NYC streets really that much safer now than they used to be, say, 10 years ago? Will I be able to take "human traffic" types of pictures without losing my M6 or worse?

Nathan
