Subject: [Leica] why leica etc

Ladies and gentlemen
I have an announcement to make: I like Leicas. It's not rational. But all
this justifying using a certain make of cameras which comes around again
and again seems pretty futile to me. I think by now all the bases have been
covered! If you like them, use them. If not, that's OK. Moi, j'adore - as
someone wrote elsewhere. I certainly couldn't be taking the pictures I'm
taking at the moment with any other camera - and I'm not talking aesthetics
here.
Anyway, surely since we all meet here on the LUG, we've all already decided
we like them? Do we have to justify it to each other all the time? To our
bank managers maybe, to our wives (although mine has about three times as
much gear as I have - nikon), to our children who we are depriving of their
college education - but to each other?
As a more constructive note, Tom's rapidwinder has been on one of my bodies
(alas only one) for the last couple of months and it has transformed its
useability. It isn't quite as smooooooth as some make it out to be - maybe
just my model - but there's no other way I could work so fast and
unobtrusively in situations where these are required features. Thanks Tom.
I'm putting myself down right now for two of your handles and another
rapidwinder - please make them soon!
Rob.
