Subject: [Leica] Noctilux pricing

While I was looking at some old catalogs I had, I came across a 1971
catalog which had many prices marked in (in Canadian dollars). The Summilux
50 list price was $324, the Elmar 2.8/50 was $117, and the Noctilux 50/1.2
was $996. With a little math, you can figure out what the 50/1.2 would cost
today. Now doesn't that 50/1 look like an out and out bargain?

BTW, an M4 body was listed at $468 - I bought the M4 that I still have for
$380 new a year or two later, as the M5 came out at around $800.
