I don't sling my M over my shoulder like some cheap N****. Instead,
Leicas deserve the respect and dignity offered by hand carrying. <big
smile>

I like keeping my caps around if for no other reason than mid-roll
changes. I want a cap so I can insert a half-used roll, and advance
back to the point of last exposure. The surest way I've found to lose
a cap is to keep it on your lens. I haven't lost one yet, but on a
couple occasions when I was walking around with it on, it fell off. I
was able to retrace my steps and find it, but from then on...lens caps
stay in the bag except for loading film.

I either keep my M in a fanny pack, where I don't have to worry about
it, or I loop the strap around my wrist a few times, and carry it in
one hand, where it's always ready to fire away. The advantage of this
is that I can take pictures on the sly by presetting hyperfocal and
exposure. The disadvantage of this is that I'm not good at taking
pictures this way. Oh, well. :)

So how's the B&W darkroom work going? Photographers shouldn't be out
in the sun, anyway. Stay inside and bask in the phosphorus glow of
your monitor or splash carcinogenic chemicals over your skin. :)
