i got a voightlander prominent with 1.5 nokton included
in a lot i once bought. have it but have never tested the lens as the camera
itself is zilch. hovever before knocking the price note its designer
tronnier was right behind bertelli in creating without hal's help most of
the great optics of the century. bertelli of course is the alltime leitz
nemesis, creating all of the contaxs superior optics, including the sonnars
and the biogon, as well as most of hasselblads superior optics. in fact it
was may have been at attempt to equal the f1,5 sonnar that let to the nokton
about 1950. at schneider tronnier created the angulon
before ww2, the super angulon after and the incredible xenotar. nikon used
this formular for their micronikkor for the rf(cost as much as the l.1),
changed their 105 f2.5 to this formula and stated in their spec sheet that
their l05 fl.8 was modified xenotar. all prejudices aside, rollei 2.8
xenotar now is the acknoweldged winner in germany over the planar, which if
you look closely is a xenotar backwards. any one who has the 150 f2.8
xenotar knows it will never be surpassed : its lanthanam glass gone with the
schott works. at voightlander tronnier produced the apo-skopar and
legendary apo-lanthar f4.5. this tweaked the exotically soft 5-element
heliar into an apo four times faster than had ever been available. it should
also be noted the every modern tele for large format is based on his 5
element telemar, that includes schneider, fuji, nikkor. so if the bidder
knows the above he's not the idiot he seems . ralph
