I'll second Paul's comments. The shutter bounce problem is the only one that
required me to put it in the repair shop, and I don't think it came from the
factory with that problem. As I recall, I bought the camera only about ten
days before the trip, ran some film through it, and didn't see any problems.
It's equally likely that the 15-hour massage by a 747 on the run to Sydney
loosened something up.

Cameras are just mechanical contrivances, and can be expected to go off
song. In the words of Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley), "It's all fixable."
