If Leica would make a medium format camera, I'm sure it would be
preferable to a Hassy, but I'm not sure it would be preferable to a
Rollei.

However, if it were a camera of the first decade of the new millenium
(recall that the rangefinder was a camera of its era and is so good
that it still is a viable tool), a Leica medium format could be an
appart that adavances phottography and as such might have mucht o
recommend it.

I imagine a Leica medium format should have autofocus (with easy
handfocus as well), multiple focus points (like Canon and Nikon), it
should have digital capability and room to evolve in that direction, it
should have shutter, aperture priorities, program mode, manual. It needs
TTL. I'm sure many of you could add to the list.

Having said all that, I must admit that my M6 is so good, is so light,
gives such detail, that I'm not sure I'd need a medium format. Then
again, I love cameras and I might buy one if Leica kept the cost within
reason and made lens of the same quality as it does for the M6. If I did
buy the medium format, though, I'm sure I'd take a membership out at the
gym so that I could be in better shape to haul the heavy camera around.
