Subject: [Leica] easy calc of hyperfocal distance

I recently read an easy to remember formula for calculating hyperfocal
length. Divide the focal length of the lens (in mm) by 10, square the
result, and you have the hyperfocal length in feet for f11.

For example, for a 50mm lens, the HFD is (50/10) ^2, or 25 feet.

Can anyone verify the accuracy of this method?
