OFF COURSE YOU CAN develope scala in your own lab !!!
The only point is that you should use the TETENAL inversion KIT. (Or similar in
Kodak)
This kit has been created to get slides from your B&W negatives.
For similar results compared to  the Scala lab, you must cut the first developer
in up to 10 - 20 %
depends of your slides density.  Even with normal, devopment time the slides are
very good, but
a little bit too dense. The quality is superb...
