I know this sounds crass but I've shot many a high mass and used flash.
The trick is to not make the thing go off when the priest is talking or the
people are biting.
Wait for a brief pause in the action and speaking.
I stand behind a pillar though along the side.
I do have total respect for it of course.
No one ever noticed me. They wanna know if i had gotten any shots at all.
