Check your meds Ted. You've got to admit, it's a pretty odd setup. I don't 
know if the R8 has a mechanical speed or not but if it does, it would 
surprise me if it didn't fire a flash. The old Minolta XD-11 did so the Leica 
R4 probably did too . . .
