Can't tell you what I use but can tell you what I would use. Mmm that's
not the same is it ;)

Air-zinc, hearing aid bat shimmed into the bat compartment, that's what
I would use.

Voltage on the others is too problematic. You are right, there is no
voltage stabilization on the MR-4.
