Subject: [Leica] wide angle close focusing

Okay wide angle buffs, here's a question for you: do you find the .7m
close-focusing restriction of the Leicas to be restrictive in practice?
Most SLR wides will let you get half again as close or closer--often to
.25m. Granted, this can make for some odd effects with the wider glass, but
with 35 and 28 mm lenses, I should think it might be useful to be able to
get a little closer than .7m.

I only have my M6 so far, and had thought I'd reserve an SLR purchase for
when I felt the need to go longer than 90mm or for macro work. But I'm just
realizing there may be some applications where the closer focusing afforded
by an SLR in wide angle use would come in handy.
