     Douglas;

*> Give me a 1966 Martin D28 over its "new" clone any day...

*Heh. 1966 represents a drop in value of the D28 (although not as
     *substantial as
*the switch to Indian rosewood in late 1969): this is when the
*tortoise celluloid pickguard was replaced with black plastic.

maybe i should have my '46 D-18 (scalloped braces) refinished
in BLACK PAINT ? where's Shintaro when you really need him ?
truth be known, i wouldn't _dream_ of doing this with my
     D'Angelicos or Epiphones <g>

*Of course, you're right about old vs. clone thing. I bought a new
*Taylor rather than a new Martin. I used to have an old OOO18, and I
*could kick myself for selling it.

...and if my foot could reach my ass, i would have been dead long ago.
if any of my M4-MOT's ever come on the market, i am either under the
influence of a controlled substance, being held for ransom or the
buyer will be purchasing stolen property.

*Oh, and speaking of Leicas, there really is no comparison between the
*feel of my M3 DS and my M4-P. The older body is much quieter as
*well. And the M4-P is considerably quieter than the M6 I recently
     *checked out at Tamarkin.

couldn't agree more. if the M4's _felt_ as good as my DS M3's i could
sell some stuff & get the 90 APO, but NOOOOOOOOO !!!!
