Irving Pens most famous shot of the mud men is surely an obvious example of
bringing a tripod to the "Jungle."
More to the point it is bringing a seamless.
And what Avedon did in the American West with the Beekeeper and so on.
Didn't hand hold that 8x10 did he?!
