Jeff - these mods will cost more than an M6, even a new one (depending where
you buy it). Why not sell it and get the camera you need rather than botch
up a nice M3?
I have OTOH got a brassy black late M3 with glossy black Rapidwinder, M4
sockets, Wasserman rewind lever which I won't sell or swap for anything!
