I saw this accessory at the Photokina. It seem to be the
answer to some of our needs.

"The Gitzo Dovetail adapter is a quick release system with a
wide grip.
It can be used with many different QR plates, including
those of Foba, Graf, Arca, Manfrotto, Kirk and Gitzo."
