Bob,

I am not Erwin, but I have this lens and I can heartily recommend it as a
standard lens. I use it as such on my Leicaflex SL, and as far as I can tell,
the only disadvantage compared to a Summicron or a Summilux 50 is the 2.8
maximum aperture. On the SL (which has the best, brightest focusing screen of
any SLR) this is not a big deal, but if you are planning to use it on an R3-R7
(the R8 is almost as good as the SL), then you might find the finder image a bit
dim.
