I know that this is going to sound snitty, but these loading "problems" do 
seem to vanish if one actually uses the cameras with any regularity.  I can 
count the number of rolls botched over the course of nearly thirty years of 
SM and M use on the fingers of one hand, and those have invariably been 
caused by my error.

As to botched *shots*--that's an entirely different matter . . .
