That may be true for some items, and may be true for you, but certainly not 
for me.  I bought a Leafscan 45 for $2k in new condition, see if you can 
find that for near that price.  I bought a Seal 160M for $200...again, try 
to find it elsewhere for near that.  An Automatic Document Feeder for my 
Epson 836XL scanner NEW for $200, sells for $1400 new...  An as new Epson 
836XL with transparency adapter for $1000.  NEW Leica 75/1.4 for $1500. 
 NEW Leica 35/1.4 for $1600...NEW M6 body for $1350 and I can name dozens 
upon dozens of items I've paid far less than I have been able to find them 
for sale elsewhere...and never have I found an item I bought over eBay for 
less anywhere else.
