My wife has one, I've used it. I'm getting one for me.

In TTL mode It cuts off when the meter in the camera tells it to.
So you can stop down and that will make less light get thought and that will
demand more power from the flash;
but will still be doable; to a limited extent.
You're not going to be able to shoot something 20 feet away at f22, you have to
check your distances to make sure you are not overshooting them at a certain F
stop. Clear as mud?
a little pricey but worth is as far as i go. Fits in the same slot in your bag
as a lens.
Has an A setter for your non TTL bodies or other cameras even.

the way i see it it makes it so you can walk around with slower film in your
camera and not get into too much trouble
