Who knows. Although green is analogous to blue it does cut UV which is the main culprit in blocking up skies. And the yellow is also good on the blue as well as the UV. Green and yellow green filters do make it much easier to get tone in the sky without underexposing. I've directly experienced that for decades. Maybe not more so than yellow, but not noticeably less. IF the opposite of blue is orange why would a red filter have more of a cutting effect, bringing out clouds more? Because the whole thing is not always that obvious, that's why IMO!
