B.D.:

I agree that Goerge's response to your post was inappropriate.

Well, Jay - I thought quite long and hard before I typed. First off, I
refer you once again to the original post..

I don't know how to take pictures, but I've now acquired in rapid
succession 2 new M6 TTLs (.58 and .85), 1 used M4-2 6 Leica lenses and
1 Voigtlander lens.

BUT THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH!!

I'm sorry Jay, but the couple of initial mildly sarcastic responses had
little to do with "Leica envy," and a great deal to do with the kind of
behavior Austin noted in his response - especially when all the listing
of equipment was prefaced by "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE PICTURES BUT..."

Then there is the matter of the come back from Mr. K, which I would
characterize as not only rude, but bizarrely arrogant -

So? Does that make one the second coming of HCB? What does it have to do
with anything....That is a bit like my responding to your plea for
civility by saying, 'Hey, there, what do you mean telling ME to be civil
- - I'm the guy who has published literally thousands of articles in The
Washington Post and Newsday, has a Pulitzer Prize, and has written 10
books. I can be as rude as I want."

And then, there's the matter of....

When, Jay, can you recall that kind of barracks response on the LUG, no
matter how weirdly we behave at times.

I'm sorry, but the original post was pretty strange, the original
reactions to it were both predictable and mildly sarcastic, and the
response to those posts was WAY out of line.

Who believes that his background as a journalist gives him a great deal
of credibility when it comes to discussing issues related to journalism,
and the subjects in which he specialized, but doesn't for a second think
that any of that should give him a nano second of credibility as a Leica
user or photographer. :-)
