Probably not....but I have seen Gerry Smith (Leica repair god) turn white as
a sheet and physically restrain an M3 owner from dry firing his camera. My
M2 he did not even put on the shutter tester as it sounded just fine. I
would at least let an experienced Leica repair person have a listen as soon
as you can.
