Tristan,

My guess is that you would find the opposite. I had a Pentax when they
changed from screw to bayonet mount. It didn't take me (an amateur) long to
switch. Look at how many systems use TM today. Changing lenses is a pain
with a TM. When I go out to take photos, I carry my 21, 35, 50, 75, 90 and
135 lenses. Since I don't have 6 M bodies, I often find myself wanting to
change lenses quickly. Yes, sometimes I go out with a body with the 35 or 50
on it and a tele in my pocket. In that case, I wouldn't worry about how many
times I need to turn the lens to remove it. The rest of the time I do.

I definitely agree with this statement. Think of how much more
popular the Leica system would be today had they simply continued on
with the screw mount. Older cameras could use new lenses, new cameras
could use old lenses which would subsequently increase demand for
both!

<<I think that the greatest mistake that Leica made was to
stop making the thread mount + m-adapter. I cannot think of
any coherent reason that they had to supply M-mount lenses
in a form that could not be used on screw mount cameras.
