You might like to check for frequency (pitch) as well. I've a feeling that
the M3 has its overtones in a different part of the spectrum to the M6. I
find it curious that lot of the reasons that leica advertise as being an
essential aspect of M photography have been made worse with each new
generation of M. My 4 is quieter than either of my 6s. My M6s are useless
for low light photography as rf flare makes focussing really hard.
