That is what I am using, a cheap flatbed scanner then scan from the 8x10's.
Someday I would like to get a film scanner.

Very nice compliment. Yes my passion is 'street photography' but I keep
trying to find something other than that to post for my PAW, but that is
what I seem to do best.
